Why it belongs

A consistent wake time gives the body a repeatable temporal anchor. You do not need a perfect sunrise schedule; regularity is more adoptable than precision.

Outdoor light is typically far brighter than indoor light, even on a cloudy morning. Make the sky your first signal—not email, news, or social media.

Get bright outdoor daylight into your eyes indirectly — face the open sky with a relaxed gaze and let the light in. That indirect brightness is the signal your body clock reads, and it is far stronger outdoors than any indoor lighting. Expose skin only as comfort, weather, and individual sun sensitivity allow.

Why it belongs

Later in the day, add leafy greens and other whole green plants. Their broad nutritional value is well supported. A proposed light–chlorophyll–mitochondria pathway is intriguing, but remains an early non-human hypothesis.

The strongest story here is not mystical. Specialized cells in the eye detect environmental light and send timing information to the brain’s master clock.
